The condition of the Baltic Sea is greatly influenced by the quality of water that flows into it. The Baltic Sea’s condition is regulated by the EU Water Framework Directive adopted in 2000, which is binding for Sweden. The Water Framework Directive is a crucial tool for restoring the Baltic Sea, binding for eight out of nine countries in the catchment area. As we approach the end date in 2027, Sweden has yet to reach the goals. Can we make it? What actions should we take? Join representatives from government, authorities, and experts to discuss the single most important requirement to restore the Baltic Sea and its implications if the goals are not achieved.
