The Button Program receives the Digital Innovation Award

In cooperation with Ålandsbanken, Niklas Zennström is part of the jury for the Digital Innovation Award. The award seeks innovative digital projects and solutions that address the most challenging issues facing the Baltic Sea.

For 2018, the Button Program was awarded 65 000 € to develop their sustainability map illustrating carbon emissions sourced from open data sources.

"The Button Program has an exciting digital solution to sustainably manage land use. By using maps to visualize carbon emissions, landowners and companies can see where they can reduce their local impact. This solution can help to effectively clean up the Baltic Sea," says Niklas Zennström.
